His shoulders were hunched over as he continued studying a piece of parchment or animal skin with writing on it. He had three black crow feathers in his hair. A piece of material stretched from his waist up and was slung over his left shoulder. It had pictures or drawings on it and I saw colors of red, orange, crimson and turquoise. He seemed concerned or, was it (relief?) about something he was reading on the parchement/animal skin that lay on the prayer rug in front of him. Was it an acient Native American prophecy now unfolding or, about to unfold? Was he concerned that he still had not overcome the obstacles and challenges on his path or was he now feeling a sense of relief that he had? The dark knows our innermost secrets and concerns and the light shines a light on where we can go for help or the life changes we need to introduce into our daily routines. It's not about loving evil but coming to terms with who and what you are. It's about recovering that integral innermost part of you like when you were a little child and had no fear but only full of love, joy and hope. As we grow older, life situations, decisions, addictions darken our path, leaving behind broken souls who have lost all hope. Finally understanding this and welcoming our shadow is all about removing the layers of pain and sorrow, guilt and remorse we've been burdened with day after day after day. Wanting change for the better is the first step in your recovery from the perpetual pit of darkness you're in into the healing light of the truth as to who and what you really are.
