From Carl Jung, "Man and His Symbols"

"If man no longer finds any meaning in his life, it makes no difference whether he wastes away under a communist or capitalist regime.  Only if he can use his freedom to create something meaningful is it relevant that he should be free."

The Hidden Path

"Know Thyself"
~ ~ ~

There's something going on within us that we're totally unfamiliar with.

The Psychologist Carl Jung coined these two terms that are important to our well being and understanding of who we are as human beings as, Animus and Anima.

Animus is the hidden unconscious (the psyche) masculine side of a female and Anima is the hidden unconscious (the psyche) feminine side of a male.

All of us have these two two traits to a lesser degree or other.

These archetypes can show up in a personality as being overly aggressive and domineering in a woman (animus) or being nurturing or overly passive in a man (anima).

Thus the female is more prone to acting more masculine than feminine and the male more feminine than masculine.

I think it's important we know about these traits hidden in our unconscious as they may provide some interesting clues as well as answers as to who we really are and, why we act/react to problems and challenges the way we do.

On Darkness

Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darkness's of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.

A Cry for Help

"Man today is painfully aware of the fact that neither his great religions nor his various philosophies seem to provide him with those powerful animating ideas that would give him the security he needs in face of the present condition of the world."  ~ Carl Jung
