It takes a lot of self-determination and courage to maintain and keep a healthy and positive attitude today.
We are constantly under assault via the boob tube.
Whether it's an ad for buying car insurance because your brand new car was just crushed by a cement mixer, or some law firm offering to help you sift through all the paperwork because of a disease you were just diagnosed with, or picking out life insurance and being told that you only qualify for this amount (smaller) but not that one (bigger) because of how much you drink or smoke or watching the big man in the little house as he sniffles and sneezes, a look of utter anguish on his face as he suffers from the affects of the flu (Gad, I hate that one) the negative side of life is constantly on display. As soon as that commercial comes on I switch the channel.
Have you ever noticed that all these ads are about slipping a hand in your pocket and siphoning out more and more money from you?
Television has become a tool of the rich and elite, a mouthpiece to the masses, keeping us entwined in mysteries, numbing our brains and entertained to the point of madness and in many cases, depressed, turning us into malcontents who resignedly sit on the edge of our seats, waiting for more excitement, more gore and more mayhem, as the scurrilous puppet masters tiptoe around, their evil grins flashing in the dark, hoping we'll all become hooked and come back for more.
Who is benefiting from all this?
The people with the money, of course.
I believe that over a period of time, television will be found to have slowly damaged our brains.
You ever notice how good, how happy you feel when the sun finally comes out, after weeks of gray skies?
Well think of television as the gray sky. Its content drones on and on and on.
Your decision to do away with it or limit it, is the sun starting to shine.
I've been pondering canceling my television subscription and look for other avenues of information that uplifts.
I believe I'm going to do it.
Television is a form of Mind Control - Think of it as Big Brother on Steroids.
