Past, Present but Do We Have a Future?

Hate and disrespect are now prevalent and rampant in our society.

We've lost something critical and essential to our understanding of who we are as human beings.

This fact makes me very sad.

If you've noticed, disrespect is the order of the day.  We are now focused primarily on ourselves and what makes us happy and don't care about anyone else.

We've become a self-centered society the results of which are now painfully evident.

There used to be a respect for sanctity of life but not anymore.  I am appalled at what's happening  where aborting a baby is acceptable for many but now we've taken it one step further, abortion even after a baby is born.

Civility, respect and courtesy are central and crucial to a civilized society.

Today, parents are too busy to teach respect, schools don't recognize respect; children aren't learning respect and governments are examples of having no respect whatsoever.

We are morphing into something unrecognizable.  Mobs, politicians, gangs, people shouting, raging, hurting, accusing, cursing and wreaking havoc on others because they happen to have a difference of opinion.

What ever happened to civilized discourse?    It now appears to be a thing of the past.

No one is immune from attacks anymore either verbal or physical.  We're all fair game to some deranged lunatic who decides that he/she is going to take their anger and rage out on someone else.

This sad and alarming trend has now become something that is happening all too regularly in our society.

Those who see what's happening and sound the alarm are systematically target, isolated and droned out.

We're in trouble.  I think what we're witnessing a societal breakdown the results of which will be very harmful to all of us.

Pray that I am wrong.
