Touched by an Angel

We're all witnessing the unbelievable savagery taking place in the country.

The reason:  a Black man was murdered by a police officer.

What matters is justice for the victim and his family and the first step taken towards this was the arrest of the police officer responsible.

The initial protests that followed his murder were peaceful, asking only justice for the victim but were then quickly hijacked by radical groups, supported, encouraged, applauded and urged on by leftist politicians, governors and mayors.

Pretty soon everyone was targeted along with churches, synagogues, banks, retail stores, restaurants, government offices and businesses that were systematically burned to the ground and looted, along with rampant vandalism.

Business owners, security guards, police officers and others were singled out and savagely beaten or killed.

It is important to note that, throughout all this, the ensuing carnage that resulted (having nothing to do with the victim's death) unwittingly unmasked those criminally culpable for what they purposely allowed to happen to the people, cities and communities.

I don't remember any voices that urged calm throughout these incredibly difficult and devastating last few days but today I did.

One was a speech from Dennis Rodman (see below).

The other was talking with an Angel on Twitter this morning, in which his words inspired me and gave me hope that we are going to re-emerge from this painful ordeal more cohesive, more forgiving, more compassionate and a more loving human family.

Both messages are this:  We are gifted with hope and faith in times of uncertainty; there is good in all of us; it is time to come together and find common ground.
