"Initiation"
Are You Ready to Take the First Step in Completing Your Journey?
~ ~ ~
SITUATION: The Wheel of Fortune is represented by the I-Ching and highlights that change is upon us, always with us. We cannot escape the ups and downs in our lives and this ebb and flow also occurs in the deep dark recesses of the universe, as well.
CHALLENGE: The High Priestess is a smoldering volcano, dark gray and ash on the outside and a fiery furnace on the inside.
She is the veiled Visionary representing the Moon which is connected to our intuition and subconscious. She is the dark womb where great mysteries are tucked away and symbolizes the duality of both light and dark.
She cautions us that if we are ever to learn who we are, our purpose in life and where we are going, she is ready to provide the answers but only if we first ascribe to and follow the path of initiation she will open up for us leading to enlightenment which is Wisdom and Understanding.
Only when we make the decision to retire from the world can we allow our subconscious to rise, listen to our inner voice and begin to recognize our own spiritual power.
Society blocks our attempts to do this but without this ability people will never begin the process of understanding who and what they are.
The red maltese crosses cascading down her skirt represent the symbol of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, the Order of St. John also known as The Knights of Malta. The 8 points are the 8 Beatitudes (see Matthew 5: 3 - 10). The Maltese Cross roots go all the way back to Jerusalem in the 1100s.
The white banner contains the word, SAPIEN meaning Homo Sapiens and has a meaning I've yet to discern other than she is watching over them.
She is also known as The Popess (the female counterpart of V The Hierophant).
The object behind her is a solar disk representing the sun with two cattle horns on either side, the symbol of the Egyptian Goddess, Isis, meaning Abundance and the Cosmos.
The cage containing a heart is symbolic of our ignorance, our voluntary imprisonment regarding our unwillingness to move forward on our own spiritual paths.
The deep, indigo blue of the veil behind her is the colour of Saturn, "The Lord of Time," also known as KARMA.
The egg that mysteriously hangs in the middle of her hand has an oval shape meaning the beginning and infinity, a cycle (circle) of life and death, the potential of everything that may happen.
In many cultures, gods emerge from eggs and is also known as the "cosmic" egg or world egg representing earth and our entire existence.
The book on her lap is known as The Key of Solomon, the ancient book of Wisdom.
RESOURCES/GUIDANCE/HELP: The Moon is associated with the High Priestess. It symbolizes the shadowy experiences we undergo in life and how the moon's glow is important as it eventually sheds light on our situation. It also symbolizes the cycles of life, birth, death, the seasons summer winter fall spring, the moon's cycles, etc.
It is here to remind us not to be afraid of the dark. That the dark can protect the light while the light can penetrate the dark. They work together. Sometimes the dark is not scary but a warm, healing protective blanket in which to hide under providing the time for you to sort things out.
HIDDEN (FOCUS): The Sun is healing, optimism, creation, birth, success, abundance and other good things. The sun is always shining but many times we can't see it and when we do, we rejoice because it means the end of the dark and moving into the light.
The light at the end of the tunnel.
OUTCOME: VI The Lovers Card represents the choices we make in life. It represents our humanity, our hopes, wishes and dreams. We have options, we can either decide to go through life alone or after careful contemplation, reach out to someone we would like to spend our lives with.
I believe this card to be very important as it turned up being the outcome of this reading so it contains an important message for all of us:
Today it's easy to be helter skelter, doing things "our" way without regard to tradition, feelings or anything else for that matter.
This card is asking us to take a different approach, to honor this tradition and take our time when making the decision to marry someone. This is not an easy thing to do, figuring out who you want to spend the rest of your life with so do the homework needed.
Male and Female weren't not created to constantly be at each others throats but to harmonize as equal partners fulfilling the roles God created for them. One the head the other the feet. You could say the male is the one who figures things out while the female ensures he gets the job done.
They both have important roles to play and assets to bring to this sacred union as their relationship continues to unfold and grows around them.
Marriage is a union blessed by God. You are actually marrying Him and agreeing to His contract when you fulfill your vows. You are His legacy as you choose a partner and agree to create together, learn to love one another (as He loves you) and work together to achieve your goals.
A relationship made in Heaven.
SUMMARY: The Hermit stands there staring at us, holding a lamp illuminating our path. Each one of us has a different path to walk while down here and he's one who will ensure you have all the proper essentials to make it a success. He works in consort with the High Priestess and has walked his own path of initiation (with her help, many many times).
Don't be afraid. You have learned about the help available to you, what the requirements are for a successful life and the guts to move foreward. All you need to do is take the first step so push the button and initate change.
"We have liftoff!"
