The Big One

All in the family
Structure is important.  Structure is what is necessary to hold things together.   The foundation of a house is structure; government is structure in that it guides us and keeps things together and under control; the human body is structure in that it covers and protects our vital organs; Human beings have structure which are a home, a family, a belief in a higher power.  When structure starts to crumble we begin to see the results.  Governments lose sight of whom they are serving and begin to accumulate massive amounts of debt leading to default and a loss of respect;  homes are foreclosed upon, families break up and children are hauled off to the state; we neglect the body and it begins to break down and suffer disease.  This loss of structure is all around us.  There is another underlying principle which also contributes to structure's malaise.  It is called squander.  We squander money; we squander opportunity; we squander relationships; we squander time; This aspect of what we're capable of can lead to very serious and long term consequences.  The universe is not some random throw down.  It is structure with laws and the results of our action/inaction if we choose to ignore them.  "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  Do not cheat on your spouse.  Children, respect and obey your parents.  Thou shalt not steal.  Do not covet your neighbor's property".  We are in a meltdown.  We have recklessly and consciously abandoned a path.  We made a decision to rebuke structure and strike out on our own believing that we didn't need any rule or spiritual law to guide us as we were our own little gods.  As a result we now watch helplessly while the  prideful, insatiable and depraved appetite of countries, governments and human beings continue to wrack the planet.  There is a saying, "Pride goes before a fall".  We are headed for a fall and it is going to be a Big One.  And we will only have ourselves to blame.
