Deliverance

There's a side of you you've never known because you've been taught it doesn't exist.   

In fact, you've been denying your good side your whole life.         

Maybe it was your parents who constantly pointed out your faults but none of your good points.  Maybe it was a teacher or a bully.

In either case you learned you were worthless and in order to protect yourself from anymore injury, you closed yourself off, leaving a vulnerable void.

Then, you opted to fill that void with drugs alcohol and crime.   

For the longest time you've denied your good side but it's still hoping it has a chance.     

When will that chance come?
 
Will chance wait until you're finally able to gain control of your life or will it appear whether your life is in order or not?

Something prompts you to do something you know you shouldn't do and you do it.  No problem. 

Then, the next time around, instead of giving in to your urges you get this unmistakable message that you're just not willing to be an accomplice to hurting yourself anymore.     

Chance has occurred.  Something's changed.   

Then comes the good part you're in touch with a feeling in which you are able to finally love yourself for the first time.   

What prompted the change?

To tell you truthfully, I don't know.  Maybe you've known for years that something's wrong and are praying for change. 

Maybe you haven't been praying at all but someone else sees something valuable in you and because of their kind intervention, they unlock that portion of you that you've kept under lock and key,  allowing you to finally morph into the real person you were destined to be. 

From chance to change.

It doesn't matter how it happens but if it happens.

So, "Make it happen".
