We're all aware of evil among us.
Most of us go about our daily lives, not hurting anyone and minding our own business.
Then, on national t.v. we again are subjected to something so vile, so evil, so unexpected in which one human being goes out and butchers other human beings.
The killer may claim mental illness, a grudge, political bias, or betrayed by a co-worker but the fact is, they couldn't control their evil urge and it played out in innocent lives lost.
Evil is a rabid disease like cancer. It remains hidden but only needs encouragement to start growing and eating away at you. If you don't catch it in time, you will be consumed by it.
The deranged rhetoric emanating from Washington, D.C. along with the news media fanning the flames of dissension is not helping the situation. In fact, it is contributing to it.
It is dangerous because what they are doing is sending a message to those (on purpose?) among us who are thinking of taking their grievances out in the form of violence against others.
All of us should be hanging our heads in shame but alas, there are those people and organizations who know nothing better than pointing fingers at others when they should be taking the blame.
Is there going to be a day on this planet when evil does not exist anymore? That's what many of us here are striving for but to answer the question right now, I'd have to say no.
This is not being pessimistic but just looking at how out of control everything is.
The majority of people on this planet are peace loving but that doesn't stop others who only want to foment violence against others.
Before we can get a handle on a problem we must first identify the problem. So what is the problem? Well, I believe it has to do with child rearing (lack of); morals which are in decay; social media which is obviously biased toward one group over another and a rabid news media who believe that if they don't get their way, resorting to violence is the answer.
We have hate laws on the books but that isn't stopping people from going out and gunning other people down.
And, no, guns are not the problem. People are.
All of us, no matter our political affiliation, color or religion need to be doing some serious soul searching.
If we can't come up with some way to stop what's happening then we're no better than Baltimore or Chicago or LA.
Rats don't show up for a feeding frenzy unless they're invited.
