There was a noticeable change in attitude by many citizens in Baltimore, Maryland who were witness to and had to endure the violence and destruction taking place around them, courtesy of bused-in rioters and anarchists who wasted no time in taking their city apart.
These courageous citizens came together and were united and determined, yet quietly defiant, as they stood shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with one another, forming an impenetrable line in front of law enforcement.
This was a "real line drawn in the sand" and if you noticed, nobody dared cross it.
Their message: "We Ain't Gonna Take It Anymore".
We watched as a number of people of color expressed their anger and disgust with what they saw happening and who had no problem with denouncing the violence and pointing the finger at parents who had long ago abrogated their responsibilities to their children, their families, their communities, along with the news media for focusing on the demonstrators and violence, neglecting the peaceful protests happening nearby.
This whole incident started out badly and ended badly yet their was a discernible change for the better in the air.
It was painfully obvious that those in command, those government, city and local officials had not bothered to plan for what was going to happen but opted instead to provide a space for these hoodlums to destroy private property to their heart's content and that's exactly what they did.
Their is a theory and it's called The Broken Window Theory. Basically it goes like this: When someone throws a rock (or in Baltimore's case, a piece of concrete) and intentionally breaks a window, now is when you confront the perpetrator and ensure that they don't do it again.
If, however, you are a feckless piece of c**p who can't be bothered with seeing to it that violence doesn't get a foothold in the first place and rain down on your city and citizens because you are too incompetent and too busy sucking up to government bureaucrats who, behind the scenes, are actually encouraging this anarchy, cracking down on criminals who openly salivate at the chance to unleash their horror on innocent people, families, and business owners, someone who exists only to draw their government paycheck, grovel to and willingly kneel at the altar of a certain political party that continues to lambaste and ridicule anyone who dares speak the truth of the situation and spew the liberal party line of "it's everyone else's fault, don't blame me, or unbelievably setting aside an area where these thugs can act out their aggression by destroying everything in sight, or the old reliable, it's George Bush's fault, then you are no better than the trash who trashed your city and you should be canned.
What happened in Baltimore could have been avoided.
Those who were responsible for allowing this inexcusable carnage should forfeit their jobs as they have publicly demonstrated to all that they were totally incapable of planning for and responding to what everyone feared would happen.
And it did.
