Darkness Falls

Surrender

It's starting again, this darkness that is beginning to feel like another skin, creeping over me. It starts at the top of my head and works its way down, completely blanketing me. When you don't fight it but surrender to it, slowly it will pass. Darkness is shadows. Darkness is the dark womb of manifestation, cocooning the embryo, allowing it to grow, nourishing and protecting it. We are conceived in darkness and live the first nine months of our lives in darkness. Some of the most brilliant, noble and creative thoughts have emerged from the dark recesses of the mind. In this vast deep, dark milky way we inhabit, there is no beginning, no end as everything just is. I stand on a pinnacle looking up into the night sky. I watch as the starry canopy overhead moves together, in unison. There are no words to describe the incomprehensible, unfathomable vastness of the universe. Our home, earth, is only a pin prick in the cosmos, surrounded by other planets and stars, black holes, quasars, pulsars, moons, constellations and galaxies so distant our minds cannot comprehend. I say to all residing on Planet Earth, Do not be afraid for Now is the Time to Speak Your Truth. For the Truth will, indeed, set you Free".

Poetry

I am a Daughter of the Revolution. My blood has stained the ground. In this cherished land my boots have trod. In this cherished land my fears have gnawed- but I've thrown them off with a guffaw. With musket, powder, cloak and dagger, I am unlike polities swagger, for I am honour bound. The trees, my cover, the babbling brook, await the line I bait with hook. For up ahead opposition lies. And I am one and they are five. Covert and silent, I know the drill, as I creep across yon silent hill. I push aside locks grazing brow and grasp my
musket more firmly now. My heart is steady as stealthily, I approach the enemy. Blood, sweat and loss is all I've known. For father, mother, children gone. And country on verge of collapse. I cannot bare hear dirge of Taps. What drives me is it courage, duty? Or is it liberty's proclivity? We must accomplish task at hand--restoration of this great land. All else is worthless if freedom lost and unresolved at any cost.

The Spirit Within

There's a part of me I'll never know that long lost Indian of many moons ago my daughter's name was Many Bluebells with spittled hair and sweated brow and forced to run the gauntlet now that led us all right straight to hell the muted sun the frozen ground nothing making any sound bodies lying all around staring faces with grimaces upon a bunch of primitives this I was told not long ago and one I hope to more deeply know.
