We're Not Just a Number Anymore

It's just another day, or is it?

No, it's one more day you can cross off your calendar as it moves you closer toward the inevitable--your end.

Think about it...one day you won't be here anymore.

What type of life legacy will you leave for your kids, your community, your country?

When you stop and think about this happening (and it will) the impact really hits home.

So, why don't we make it a memorable day for ourselves or someone else and do something positive, do something good?

Have you ever noticed when we do something good for someone else how it makes us feel?

Why don't we stop and smell the roses?

Why don't we smile at someone who really needs someone to smile back?

Why don't we reach out to a stranger in the grocery store or wherever and say, "Hi, I'm so and so and I hope you have a nice day."

Why don't we adopt a shelter dog, or cat?

Why don't we sip our coffee watching the hummingbirds zooming around, sipping the sweet nectar we put out?

Why don't we call our neighbor and ask, "Is there anything I can do for you today?"

Why don't we stand up and put politicians in their place?  --Oh, I forgot, they're "The Privileged Class."

Guess what, you ain't got no class at all.

It's time you realized that we pay your salaries.

You work for us so start listening to our grievances, our fears, our concerns.

We are a representative government so start representing--this is the job you were hired to do in the first place but have failed, miserably.

Why don't we rise up and shout, when we see something hurtful or harmful and say, "this is wrong, and you can't do this to us anymore?"

Why do we continue to allow others to do our thinking for us?

Well, it's because we've been imprinted, stamped and cataloged since day 1 and "conditioned" into a certain way of doing, a certain way of living and a certain way of thinking.

But, we are slowly coming to our senses and the way we were meant to live on this planet.

We have groups that are growing in size--Anonymous and The Tea Party who are drawing attention to the corruption and deception we're drowning in and they're drawing a line in the sand and sticking to it.

We have people across the world demonstrating against and shouting, "No to GMOs."

A former hedge fund manager just bought a drug called Daraprim.  He raised the price from $13.50 a pill to $750.00 a pill.  Daraprim is used to treat parasitic infections.

He was interviewed by Bloomberg not too long ago and I was startled by the smugness of this guy. His reaction to all the negativity of his decision was a big "FU".

His defense was that other pharmaceuticals have done the same thing because they weren't making a profit and he's right, they have but...I'm all for profit but not when it may, can or will adversely affect others.

There's got to be a better way and there is.

This guy is a good example of how someone can let their ego in the way of doing what's right.

The movie The Matrix is one of my favorites and I've posted about it before but last night, after watching it many times, I finally connected with the scene where Neo bursts up from that tub of slime with all the tubes sticking out of him as he becomes aware of another existence (aside from the Matrix-The Truth).

A connection is made.  Eyes are opened.  A new awareness.

Then the slimy, long, ugly cables are jerked out of his body and he experiences immense pain.

He is extricating himself from the Matrix and they don't like it.  They're going to make him pay and one of the best ways to do this is through pain.

Another side to this scenario is he is suddenly inundated with powerful feelings he's unknowingly repressed (as he never knew they even existed as to the truth of his existence)--how he's been lied to and manipulated and used.

You can finally see how hobbled and shackled he was by the "system" and how much he had to dance by their rules.

There's another way of living and one that is much more harmonious and healthful, much more compassionate and loving.

It is waiting for each and every one of us.

Unplug yourselves from the Matrix for we are not numbers, we are people.

Singly we are weak but together we are strong.

We are Legion; we are Invincible.

Let's start making a difference in our world, today.
